Isn't it comforting to know that G-d's name has power and that He is motivated by love?
Maybe you have never thought of His name as having power.
If you have a kind Rabbi, you gladly obey someone who is sent in the power and authority of that Rabbi's name.
But what is G-d's name? In Sh'mot, Exodus, Elohim said to Moshe, "I am YHVH, I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, by the name of El Shaddai, G-d Almighty, but by my name , YHVH, Eternal, I was not known to them."
We can see from this that our G-d has many names. These are three examples: Elohim, YHVH, and El Shaddai. But, He is one G-d.
He said to Moshe, "I am, who I am."
In Mikhah we read where it says, "But you, Beit LecHem near Efrat, so small among the clans of Y'hudah, out of you will come forth to me, the future ruler of Israel; whose origins are far in the past, back in ancient times."
A little further down we read that that ruler will stand and feed His flock in the strength or power of YHVH, in the majesty of the name of YHVH, His Elohim.
His flock will stay put, as He grows great to the ends of the earth.
So, a ruler will be born in Beit LecHem, whose origins are far in the past.
Hmmm, born, but originated in the past.
That sounds like Yeshua, our Jewish Messiah. It also says He will stand in the majesty of the name of YHVH.
In the Brit Chadasha, we read where Yeshua said, "I can't do a thing on my own. As I Hear, I judge. My judgment is right, because I don't seek my own desire, but the desire of the one who sent me."
That's one of many reasons why we can trust Yeshua. He only does the desire of the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob!
As Yeshua was speaking of His soon to come death, burial and resurrection, He prayed for His followers saying, "They are in the world, but I am coming to you. Holy Father, guard them by the power of your name, which you have given to me, so that they may be one, just as we are. When I was with them, I guarded them by the power of your name, which you have given to me."
As Yeshua used His Father's name and the power and authority it represented, believers in Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah, have the availability of power and authority.
We know that Yeshua came so that we would have an abundant life.
Our adversary came to kill, steal and destroy, but Yeshua promised that we could have authority over all the power of the adversary.
Isn't it time that you utilized the authority of the name of the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob through the name of His son Yeshua?
YHVH has given Yeshua the power of His name and Yeshua has given His followers authority when they use His name.
If you are tired of the killing, stealing and destroying going on in your life and the life of your loved ones, maybe it's time for you to ask the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob if Yeshua is the Messiah of Israel and begin living an abundant life with authority and power!
