Deuteronomy 32:40 For I lift up (af'n" nasa) my hand to heaven, and say: As I live for ever.Here we see that "af'n" nasa" is used to mean actual lifting. It also means to carry or take.
1 Kings 18:12 And it will come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the spirit of the LORD will carry (af'n" nasa)thee whither I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he will slay me; but I thy servant fear the LORD from my youth.
JPS 2 Kings 2:16 And they said unto him: 'Behold now, there are with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master; lest peradventure the spirit of the LORD hath taken him up (af'n" nasa), and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley.'
