Maybe you have a lot of preconceived ideas about Yeshua.  Maybe you have some kind of warped idea of him because of how some people throughout history were successful in stripping him of his Jewishness. They made it seem like he created a new religion apart from Judaism. The truth is he was and is the Jewish Messiah and never departed from the Jewish faith.

Yeshua once said, "Always treat others as you would have them treat you; that sums up the teaching of the Torah and the Prophets." He was giving instructions to obey the Torah.  In the same conversation he said, "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, only those who do what my Father in heaven wants. [He was just speaking about the Torah and the Prophets] On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord! Didn’t we prophecy in your name? Didn’t we expel demons in your name? Didn’t we perform many miracles in your name? Then I will tell them to their faces, ‘I never knew you! Get away from me you workers of lawlessness!’"

Was he talking about the secular laws of the land? No, he was talking about the Torah.

Even his followers taught the Torah. Rabbi Shaul one of his most famous followers said, "Therefore he will consider righteous the circumcised on the ground of trusting and the uncircumcised through that same trusting. Does it follow that we abolish Torah by this trusting? Heaven forbid! On the contrary, we confirm Torah."

So, Rabbi Shaul, said he confirms Torah.  Do you?
