Hear Do It Israel Pt. 1 Israel Pt. 2

Deuteronomy 6:4-5   Hear, O Israel:  The Lord our G-d is one.  And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

We know that Yeshua repeated this command of G-d in the book of Mark, Chapter 12, and verse 20.

We say this every week, but unlike Yeshua, we do not do it.

Some of us do not even love G-d enough to read the Jewish Holy Scriptures from Genesis to Revelations to find out what G-d  requires of us.

Others of us know much of the Bible but do not love or fear G-d enough to do his commands.  We act as if his commands are options and like spoiled kids, we do what we choose to do.

From the Brit Chadasha we know that Rav Shaul speaking of G-d’s mercy said, “are we to say, ‘Let's keep on sinning, so that there can be more grace’? Heaven forbid!”

Yochanan wrote about our heart condition when he said “And this is the message which we have heard from him and proclaim to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him - none!  If we claim to have fellowship with him while we are walking in the darkness, we are lying and not living out the truth.  However, if we are walking in the light, as he is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of his Son Yeshua purifies us from all sin.  If we claim not to have sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we acknowledge our sins, then, since he is trustworthy and just, he will forgive them and purify us from all wrongdoing.  If we claim we have not been sinning, we are making him out to be a liar, and his Word is not in us.

G-d has written right and wrong in our hearts.  Show him in the next seven days how much you love him by obeying him in an area of your life that he has asked you to change.  As a reminder, mark your calendar at the beginning of the day with the first letter of the thing G-d has asked you to change Then do it two more sets of seven days and as you repent for your former disobedience he will take away the desire to walk in that darkness.

Begin your new obedience one day at a time as you mark your calendar daily.   May G-d help you to be a light to those around you.
